Abstract (en)
A reciprocating piston engine, with reflective combustion space surfaces coated with a visible light and infrared (IR) transparent layer, is new. A reciprocating piston engine has light and/or heat reflective, preferably mirror smooth surfaces on its parts (11, 111, 13, 131) adjacent the combustion space (10, 100), the surfaces being coated with a layer which is transparent to visible and IR radiation.

Bei der Hubkolben-Brennkraftmaschine mit Zylinder (13) und einem sich darin befindenden Kolben (11), wird der Brennraum (10, 100) im wesentlichen durch die Zylinderinnenwand, den Zylinderdeckel (131) und den Kolbenboden (111) gebildet. Die den Brennraum (10, 100) begrenzenden Teile des Motors (11, 111, 111',13, 131 ) weisen wenigstens teilweise Licht- und/oder Wärmestrahlen reflektierende, vorzugsweise spiegelglatte Oberflächen auf. Bei den Teilen (11, 111, 111',13, 131), die den Brennraum (10, 100) begrenzen, ist auf der reflektierenden Oberfläche eine für Licht- und Wärmestrahlen durchlässige Schicht (15) aufgebracht. <IMAGE>
