The initial material in the form of a strip (2) or sheet is shaped using several rolls (5) which are staggered in the rolling direction (7) and penetrate to different depths into the strip or sheet material over the width of the latter. The rolling installation includes at least one rolling unit (9) with support roll (6) and adjustable pressure rolls staggered in the rolling direction.

Ein Verfahren zum Herstellen von über die Breite ein beliebiges Dickenprofil aufweisenden bandförmigem Walzgut durch Längswalzen eines Ausgangsmaterials (1; 2), insbesondere eines Metallbandes (2) oder einer Platine (1), sieht vor, daß das Ausgangsmaterial (1; 2) mit mehreren in Walzrichtung (7) versetzt angeordneten, über die Walzgutbreite verschieden tief in das Ausgangsmaterial eindringenden Walzen (5) in Breitenrichtung verformt wird. Bei einer Walzanlage (9) zum Durchführen des Verfahrens sind einer das Walzgut (1; 2) aufnehmenden Stützauflage (6) obere, in Walzrichtung (7) versetzt angeordnete, unterschiedlich angestellte Drückwalzen (5) zugeordnet. <IMAGE>
