The appliance for transferring the back edge (2) of a sheet (6) guided along a cylinder (4) to a subsequent cylinder (8) belonging to a turning arrangement in a rotary sheet-fed printer has at least one lifter (12,33) raising the back edge of the sheet from the front cylinder. The subsequent cylinder has a gripper (14) possessing a gripper support (22) which can be removed from the periphery of the subsequent cylinder. Bei einem Verfahren und einer Vorrichtung zur Übergabe der Hinterkante (2) eines Bogens (6) in einer Wendeeinrichtung (10) einer Bogenrotationsdruckmaschine, ist es vorgesehen, die Bogenhinterkante (2) durch Blaseinrichtungen (16) vom vorgeordneten Zylinder (4) abzuheben und daraufhin die abgehobene Bogenhinterkante (2) mittels eines aus der Peripherie einer Wendetrommel (8) herausschwenkbaren Greiferelementes (14) zu erfassen. <IMAGE>
