[origin: WO9842578A1] The invention relates to a device for applying self-adhesive labels having no base material with a separating unit (20) for separating an individual self-adhesive label from a length of self-adhesive material, and with an application unit situated after the separating unit (20) in direction of advance (V) of the length of self-adhesive material. The application unit (30) is essentially reversibly mobile in diagonal direction to the superficial extent of the length of self-adhesive material, and catches the self adhesive label on its non-adhesive side in order to apply it to a product (P) which is to receive such self-adhesive label. In accordance with the invention, the application unit (30) can be brought into a catch position in which it catches the length of self-adhesive material, after which an individual self-adhesive label can be separated from the length of self-adhesive material by the separating unit (20).
