[origin: WO9848370A1] The invention concerns a device for image acquisition of objects, in particular of bar codes comprising lighting means (26) provided downstream of optical means (21, 24, 25) and arranged such that the illumination beam axis intersects the optical axis. Moreover, reflecting means (30), allowing the image beam to pass through and reflecting the lighting beam, are arranged so as to intercept said illumination beam, and, are inclined relative to the optical axis, at an angle adapted so that said illumination beam is centred on said optical axis. The invention is characterised in that the lighting means (26) are adapted to light the useful optical field over the entire field depth, and the angle alpha wherein the light source viewed from the object plane is such that alpha </= inverse tangent L/5P L being the width of the object plane and P the distance between the object and the light source.
