Metal compounds are removed from heavy oils using a catalyst containing a group IVB metal and a group IA metal at temperatures of 300-550oC and at a pressure of 100-300 atm.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur katalytischen Entfernung von Metallverbindungen aus Schwerölen, wobei ein Katalysator mit einem Gehalt an einem Metall der Gruppe IVB und einem Metall der Gruppe IA des Periodensystems bei Temperaturen zwischen 300 - 500°C und einem Druck zwischen 100 - 300 atm eingesetzt wird.
