Abstract (en)
The seal (10) includes a thermoplastic layer (22) contacting and compatible with the profile (12), by means of which they are welded together. An Independent claim is included for: (a) the method of seal installation. The layer (22) and profile are heated in corresponding areas, melting the layer. They are pressed together, then cooled, completing the weld. (b) equipment for welding the seal in place. Preferred features: In the method, heating is by hot air, directed appropriately. Complementary heating takes place as the appropriate areas are brought into contact. Seal and profile are heated to different temperatures. Temperatures and/or air flowrate are controlled so that the seal can subsequently be lifted off. The seal is attached as the profile is being extruded, temperatures and flowrates being controlled as a function of extrusion speed.

Joint d'étanchéité pour profilé de menuiserie en thermoplastique, ce joint (10) étant réalisé en une ou plusieurs matières appropriées quelconques et étant fixé sur une surface (16) du profilé (12) par l'intermédiaire d'une couche (22) d'une matière thermoplastique compatible avec celle du profilé et permettant d'assurer la fixation du joint sur le profilé par soudure.
