Abstract (en)
The method involves determination of journey times (t(x;n)) for vehicles (6) on at least one route section (e.g. n) of a motorway or road (1). For given vehicles the respective times for entry into or exit from the route section, and individual journey times, or journey times averaged over a number of vehicles, an actual average journey time over the route section are determined out of the different of the exit time to the entry time. At certain monitoring or control points on the route section individual vehicles in the flow of traffic are automatically optically detected and the obtained video information on individual vehicles is converted into image data. Time-sequential image data sets are obtained and then temporarily stored and data sets for entry into, are continuously compared with those for exit from, a route section, for any agreement of their image data. When agreement is established in two data sets, the individual journey time (t(x;n)) is derived from the difference of time information (62) of theses data sets.

Die Reisezeit (t(x;n))eines Kraftfahrzeuges (6) auf einem Streckenabschnitt (z. B. n) eines Verkehrsweges (1) ergibt sich aus der Differenz von Ausfahrtszeit zu Einfahrtszeit. Dazu werden die Kraftfahrzeuge an durch den Ort der Zufahrt bzw. der Ausfahrt bestimmten Kontrollpunkten (2 bzw. 3) des Streckenabschnittes im Verkehrsfluß individuell automatisch mittels Videokamera (4) optisch erfaßt. Die Bildinformation zu individuellen Kraftfahrzeugen wird jeweils in Bilddaten (61) umgewandelt und mit einer Zeitinformation (62) über den Zeitpunkt der Aufnahme zu einem Bilddatensatz (63) gekoppelt. Die Bilddatensätze für Zufahrt werden fortlaufend mit den Bilddatensätzen für Ausfahrt auf Übereinstimmung der Bilddaten verglichen, um bei einer festgestellten Übereinstimmung zweier Bilddatensätze aus deren Differenz der Zeitinformationen (62) die individuelle Reisezeit (t(x;n)) abzuleiten. Um den Aufwand für die dabei erforderliche Korrelationsrechnung zu minimieren, wird die Bildinformation der Videoaufnahmen jeweils in einer Bildauswerteeinheit (5) digitalisiert und auf ein signifikantes Merkmal, insbesondere das Muster des Kraftfahrzeugkennzeichens (61') reduziert. <IMAGE>
