Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0978848A1] Process for charging a storage vessel (1) with used fuel elements from nuclear power stations comprises filling bearing bushings (6, 7) each with a used fuel element and closing the bushings with a primary lid (9). A number of bushings (6, 7) are placed in the storage container and the container closed with a lid (5) having openings (12, 14). The bushings (6, 7) are raised after each other so that they punch through the openings (12, 14) with the head (13). A secondary lid (15) is fixed to the head (13). An Independent claim is also included for the storage vessel itself.
