[origin: GB2325054A] A microwave radiation measuring device comprises: a resistive element 3 and means for coupling microwave radiation emanating form a source 10 to the said resistive element. The resistive element 3 may be a conductive track formed on an insulating substrate and said means of coupling may comprise an antenna 7 and microstrip transmission line 6. A constant current source 8 and voltmeter 9 may be used to measure the resistance of the resistive element 3. A further resistive device may be employed to sense fluctuations in the ambient temperature conditions. A frequency selective filter 14 comprising an array of electrically conductive elements formed on a dielectric substrate may be used to select the radiation frequencies received by the resistive element. The device may be used to measure brief intense microwave radiation pulses.
