Abstract (en)

The system applies to ovens where the user selects, through a multi-position switch, e.g., on the fascia (23), the heating elements (e.g., top, bottom, microwave) appropriate to the proposed cooking method. Each option, generally, corresponds to a particular level on which the food should be placed, the supporting shelf or grid being slid in on one of e.g. 4 vertically spaced opposing pairs of rails (24) in the oven sides (22). The correct level may be indicated automatically to the user by a distinctive flag displayed in a small window (25) next the right rail, operated by mechanical linkage from the switch. Preferably, however, the windows house electrical indicating lamps energized through contacts on the selector switch. The lamps are e.g. electroluminescent diodes, each connected between a selector switch contact and a common return, wiring is reduced by using the diodes in reversely connected pairs, enabling two lamps to be operated off a single selector lead. Esp. in self-cleaning ovens using pyrolysis, diodes may be sited in cooler zones and the respective windows lit through light guides. In a variant, these guides terminate in corner indicators (26) in the door frame, much more easily seen.

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'aide au positionnement de produits à cuire dans un four et concerne en particulier les fours à usage domestique pour la cuisson des aliments. Le pourtour (22) du moufle (21) du four est équipé de gradins (24) dans lesquels peuvent s'insérer des supports pour les produits. Le dispositif selon l'invention comporte un sélecteur du mode de cuisson, chaque mode de cuisson présentant une ou plusieurs positions préférentielles des aliments dans le four. Il comporte en outre un ensemble d'indicateurs visibles par l'utilisateur (25, 26), placés en vis-à-vis d'une partie au moins des gradins afin de signaler les positions desdits gradins. Ces indicateurs sont commandés par le sélecteur de telle sorte que pour chaque mode de cuisson sélectionné, les indicateurs en vis-à-vis des gradins correspondant aux positions préférentielles des aliments dans le four sont mis en action. Avantageusement, les indicateurs sont des indicateurs lumineux. L'invention propose ainsi un dispositif améliorant la convivialité d'utilisation du four en donnant à l'utilisateur une information directe sur la position préférentielle des aliments dans le four en fonction du mode de cuisson choisi. <IMAGE>
