[origin: EP0982430A2] An ironing board has a depositing surface for an iron, and a holder for a steam generator (14) which can be connected to the iron. The holder features a holding surface (4) with an indentation which is open in the upwards direction. The holding surface is located directly under the depositing surface (7) in such a way that the depositing surface (7) encases a support component (13) of the steam generator (14). The component (13) is located on the holding surface (4) and engages in the indentation (13).
