[origin: EP0982441A2] The opening (17) in the rigid protective cap (16) covering the opening (30) in the fitting housing (5) for receiving the control unit cartridge (4), is reduced in size by a flexible cuff (19). The fastener section (7) of the mixer lever (2) and/or the lever (3) for operating the control unit extends through a small opening (23) in the cuff. The fitting housing has an opening in its top end for receiving a control unit cartridge operated by an upwards-extending lever. A mixer lever is located above the top end of the fitting and includes a fastener section connected to the lever for operating the control unit.
