Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0982461A2] The basic frame (10), for fitting a window frame (11) in a wooden structure, has side projections at the frame which fit into grooves (34) at the wood wall. They can slide vertically to compensate for shrinkage in the blocks (14). The upper lateral beam extends into a groove 21 in the wood block, over the window opening and at a gap from the base of the groove. The side sections of the basic frame are covered by an inner and/or an outer cladding 13,12. The gaps are filled by sealing strips (17-19).
