[origin: EP0982463A2] The window sill (1) comprises a composite plate of two horizontal layers, permanently bonded together. The upper layer (6) is a solid plate and the lower layer (5) a foamed plastic and/or wood fiber material and/or foamed glass of similar or less thickness than the plate. An independent claim is made for a window sill manufacturing process in which a composite plate edge (12) is inserted into a casting too leaving a free cavity, the joint between the plate and tool inner wall is sealed and the cavity filled with plastic to form an edge strip (13).
