Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0982465A2] The protection system for a door (100), especially an overhead swing or folding door, covers and seals the zones between two sections (1,2,5) with relative movements and especially the gap (21) between the frame (1) and the door panel (2), or between the frame (1) and the swing/tilt lever mechanism (5). A carrier or support (24), of a rigid and impact-resistant material, secures the protection (24) or a component part (22,23) of it at one of the moving sections (1,2,5), or is bonded to it. It has at least one protective bar or lip (25) at the carrier/support (24), with a relative movement between them. Should an object pass into the gap zone (21), such as a hand or a finger, the bar or lip can be displaced to prevent clamping or squeezing whatever is present.
