[origin: WO9939996A1] The inventive weighing device contains a balance (4). Said balance (4) is accommodated in a housing (1) which is provided with a door (2). The following are mounted on the front face of the housing (1): an operator guide (3), an output opening (7) for issuing adhesive labels (6) and an operating opening (8) for removing or replacing a data storage medium. The weighing device is activated by a personalised part (10) of an identification element (5, 10), for example a transponder. Once the identification stage has been carried out by a computer (12) contained in the housing (1), the door (2) is unlocked and can be opened by the authorised user. The user then places a rubbish bag on the balance (4). After the bag has been weighed, the weighing device prints an adhesive label (6) and issues it through the output opening (7). The adhesive label (6) is stuck onto the rubbish bag which is then thrown into the designated container. The weight of the rubbish bag is stored on the data storage medium together with the identification information and can then be electronically processed for accounts.
