[origin: DE19819587A1] Ferrocene dicarboxylate of formula (I) is new. In (I), X = oligoethylene glycol with 2-20 ethoxy units and/or alpha -w-2-18C alkyldiol. Also claimed are: (i) the preparation of (I) by reacting ferrocene di(carboxylate) with an oligoethylene glycol with 2-20 ethoxy units and/or an alpha -w-2-18C alkyldiol; (ii) a composite solid fuel comprising an oxidising agent(s), an energy-rich fuel, a binder(s) and a ferrocene derivative(s) of formula (I) above; and (iii) the preparation of the composite solid fuel in (ii) by mixing liquid prepolymer, (I), oxidising agent, fuel and additives to form a slurry and adding a binder.
