[origin: EP0880265A1] The method involves determining a billing of connections in a communications network which includes a majority of partial networks of different providers. A pricing of a connection is determined in a pricing determination point (TDP) of a partial network, and is transferred as a pricing message to a billing processing point (TPP). The billing processing point performs billing-related processes based on the received pricing messages, in which the pricing of a connection is explicitly indicated in the pricing message, i.e. in the pricing units per pricing time interval. The pricing units are preferably indicated in a currency format or a meter pulse format.
