Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0984140A2] The i.c.engine has braking valves (2) which are opened for venting the combustion space of each engine cylinder, for providing engine braking. A pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical blocking device (3) holds each braking valve in the open position and is released to allow the braking valve to move into the closed position.
