Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0984427A2] The method involves using a microprocessor to examine a text for language-characterising words or character combinations, to identify the language. The text is converted into word syllables using an algorithm created for the identified language, for reproduction via a loudspeaker. The language which occurs most in the identification stage is selected. The text is received by a vehicle by wireless means and output to the driver. A facsimile transmission received from a mobile radio unit is resolved into text characters and output acoustically. An e-mail system may be coupled to the mobile radio unit.
