[origin: EP0984513A2] The contact insert has a plastics housing block (2) with at least 2 terminals (3) for incoming electrical leads (4) and at least 2 pin or socket sleeve contacts (8), respectively connected to the terminals. The contact insert is used with insulated electrical leads, each of the terminals provided as a knife contact for penetrating the lead insulation, with the terminals positioned in mirror symmetry to the centre plane (M) of the contact insert.
