Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0985536A1] The invention relates to an ink jet type recording head which comprises a plurality of head units (40, 41), each said head unit comprising a plurality of pressure generating means (7, 8, 65, 65'), and a plurality of pressure generating chambers (2, 3) for pressurizing ink through actuation of said pressure generating means (7, 8), the plurality of head units (40, 41) housing said plurality of pressure generating chambers (2, 3). The recording head furthermore comprises a flow passage unit (85) including a base board (73) on which said head units are arranged, and a nozzle plate (72) including nozzle opening lines (70, 71). On the base board (73) there are provided reservoirs (74, 74') and nozzle communication holes (75, 76, 75', 76') for feeding ink in accordance with the actuator units (65, 65') to nozzle openings which are provided in nozzle opening lines (70, 71) of a nozzle plate (72) underlying the base board (73). The reservoirs are U shaped and arranged such that the arms of each U sandwich the lines of the nozzle communication holes (75, 76, 75', 76'). <IMAGE>
