[origin: DE19724540A1] The invention relates to a closing device (10) for windows, doors or similar openings, comprising a hanging (16) consisting of sections (17) which are hingeably connected to each other around an approximately parallel axis (18) resembling an accordion. Said hanging is secured on one end of a hanging section to a retaining strip (19) which is approximately parallel to the axis of the hanging section and has a holder (20) secured thereto on the other end in the area of the hanging section. At least one of the edges (21, 22) of the hanging (16) extending between the retaining strip (19) and the holder (20) runs and diverges at least partially from a line which is somewhat perpendicular to the retaining strip (19). The hanging (16) is oversized lengthwise between the retaining strip (19) and the holder (20) as a compensation storage to form at least one compensation element (23, 24, 25).
