Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9857396A1] The invention relates to a contact pin (1) enabling electrical printed circuit boards (31) to be fastened to holes (30) without soldering. The inventive pin comprises a shank section, a press-in section connected thereto and an insert section arranged on the end of the press-in section opposite to the shank section. The press-in section stands out above the contours of the shank and insert sections and has two elastically deformable contact brackets (7, 8) which can move towards each other. Each contact bracket (7, 8) has a respective wedge section (12, 13). The wedge section (12, 13) are directed towards each other in such a way that they slide on top of each other during assembly in holes (30) for printed circuit boards. The contact forces of the contact brackets (7, 8) are improved as a result of the self-regulating wedge effect, enabling advantageous gas-tight contact strips (32, 33) to be formed on two opposite-lying curvatures (28) on the edges of the contact brackets. By changing the wedge angle, the contact forces can be adapted to certain edge conditions and defined press-in and press-out forces can be produced.
