[origin: WO9858426A1] The invention relates to a zero insertion force connector for circuit boards having an actuating member (8) by actuation of which the zero insertion force connector for circuit boards (1; 11-14) can be moved from an assembly position permitting the insertion or removal of a circuit board (3) into a connecting position which correctly contacts said circuit board, and/or vice versa. Said zero insertion force connector for circuit boards is characterized in that the actuating member has a hinged part (85) which can be moved back and forth between a locking position, in which it blocks a circuit board being inserted into or removed from the zero insertion force connector for circuit boards, and an open position in which it does not block such a circuit board. When said hinged part is moved into the locking position and/or into the open position it comes to rest against an element of the device containing the zero insertion force connector for circuit boards in such a way that the actuating member is actuated when the hinged part is moved.
