Abstract (en)

Process for localizing element concentrations in the edge regions of a horizontally finished cast rod made of alloyed non-ferrous metals comprises removing a longitudinal section (3) from a cast rod, removing a surface layer of determined thickness from this section forming a sample body, testing the metal composition by spectral analysis in the longitudinal direction of the strip, and numerically and/or graphically representing the element concentrations with the aid of a computer (11). An Independent claim is also included for the apparatus for carrying out the process for localizing element concentrations in the edge regions of a horizontally finished cast rod made of alloyed non-ferrous metals.

Abstract (de)

Zur Lokalisierung von Elementkonzentrationen in den Randbereichen eines horizontal gefertigten Gußstrangs aus legierten Nichteisenmetallen wird ein Längenabschnitt (3) aus dem Gußstrang entfernt und von diesem einen Probekörper (3) bildenden Längenabschnitt mindestens einmal in Querrichtung eine Oberflächenschicht mit bestimmter Dicke streifenartig mit einer Metallabnahmeeinheit (4) abgenommen. Dann wird mit Hilfe eines Spektralanalysenkopfs (14) in Längsrichtung des Streifens eine punktförmige spektralanalytische Prüfung der Metallzusammensetzung in linienförmiger Aufeinanderfolge durchgeführt. Die hierbei ermittelte Elementkonzentration wird mit Hilfe eines Rechners (11) zahlenmäßig und/oder grafisch dargestellt. Metallabnahmeeinheit (4) und Spektralanalysenkopf (14) sind unter den Einfluß einer Metallabnahme- und Analysenregeleinheit (6) gestellt, welche einerseits über eine speicherprogrammierbare Steuerung (9) und andererseits über ein Spektrometer (16) mit dem Rechner (11) gekoppelt ist. <IMAGE>
