[origin: EP0989260A2] The cylinder element for a lock has a main body (10) in relation to which a closure element (12) turns. The closure element has a beard (14) for operating the lock (22), especially a switching mechanism. A control (16) turns together with the closure element in relation to the cylinder body and has an engaging element (18) spaced apart in the peripheral direction of the beard. The control is annular or partly annular and has a cavity for the beard.
