Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9859354A1] A device for triggering an overload circuit breaker, such as a line safety switch, has a triggering armature (11) which actuates a switch latch (18) and can be actuated by a coil (6) through which flows the current to be monitored. The triggering armature (11) is retained in its rest position by a spring (12) and an electromagnet (20) through the coil (7) of which flows the current to be monitored or a current proportional to the current to be monitored. The coil (7) can be short-circuited when a predeterminable current strength is reached.
