This plug-in unit is characterized in that it includes a solid central core (500) made of metal lying parallel to the plane (P) of the plug-in unit (1000) in a position intermediate between two layers (100, 200) of electronic cards (110, 120, 210, 220), so as to drain away heat, by thermal conduction, to at least one lateral radiator (511, 521) forming one of the said lateral edges of the plug-in unit.
