Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0990776A1] With inlet (13) and outlet (14) camshafts adjoining, the two shafts act on the valves (9) via pushrods (11) and rocker arm (10) respectively for inlet and outlet channels. The outlet camshaft (14) is powered by the crankshaft (2) and the inlet camshaft (13) is powered by the outlet shaft (14) with the aid of an angle adjuster. Both camshafts (13,14) lie superposed in the cylinder bank (3) divider plane (18) and the pushrods are selectively shortened by hydraulic elements (19) which in turn work with the pushrods in response to control lines parallel to the camshafts. The elements adjust the valve stroke between maximum and zero and have a valve balancing device.
