[origin: EP0990853A2] The gas burner is an atmospheric ring burner (19), and is positioned on the same level as, or below an opening (2) in the glass/glass ceramic hob (1). Supply of secondary air (12) to the flame area (19a) of the burner, is form the side and/or from below the burner. The hob opening is smooth and has an overflow collar, formed by the opening edge (1a) being bent upwards. A low-set collection channel is located between edge and hob.
