Abstract (en)
A fuel fired drying system for a continuous material feed has the material (WB) passed horizontally between upper and lower drying jets (3,4) fed by twin blowers which draw hot gasses from a common duct (11). The hot gasses comprise combustion gasses from the burner and recirculated gasses. If the material feed stops, a safety procedure switches the by-pass flaps for the lower drying jets to shut off the drying flow onto the material while the blower of the other jets has its speed reduced, or stopped, by a frequency switch. With the by-pass flaps switched into the safety setting a recirculating gas flow is maintained so that the drying process can be re-started at the selected temperature.

Bei der erfindungsgemäßen Wärmebehandlungsvorrichtung für eine fortlaufend transportierte Warenbahn (WB) ist innerhalb wenigstens eines Behandlungsfeldes (F) oberhalb und unterhalb der Warenbahn-Transportebene ein oberes und ein unteres Düsensystem (3,4) angeordnet, dem je ein einen zirkulierenden Behandlungsgasstrom erzeugender Ventilator (7,8) zugeordnet ist, wobei die Ansaugseiten (7b,8b) beider Ventilatoren mit einem gemeinsamen Behandlungsgas-Zuführsystem (11,12,13) verbunden sind. Damit bei einem Stillstand des Warenbahn-Transports Hitzeschäden an der Warenbahn (WB) vermieden und dabei eine Verringerung des mechanischen Aufwandes sowie des Energieverbrauchs erzielt werden kann, ist nur dem einen Düsensystem (4) ein Bypass-Klappensystem (15,16) zugeordnet, während der das andere Düsensystem (3) mit Behandlungsgas versorgende Ventilator (7) durch einen Frequenzumschalter (14) bei einem Warenbahn-Stillstand auf Minimaldrehzahl herunterregelbar oder abschaltbar ist. <IMAGE>
