[origin: DE19725355A1] The invention relates to a closing system for a sliding door, specially for cold storage chambers, refrigerated warehouses, storage warehouses, etc., which can be accessed on foot or by means of vehicles. In order to ensure hermetic sealing of the sliding door and to enable it to open easily, the invention provides that a door leaf is suspended using a running gear (6, 7) on a supporting guide rail (4, 5), specially a dual track supporting guide rail, whose an active area when closed is located at a lower level and closer to the door opening than the remaining area so that the leaf of the door tightly seals the opening of the door in a closed position and can be raised quickly and easily from the door opening when the door is opened.
