[origin: WO9900959A1] The present invention relates to an interface device (6) for connecting a communications network end station (1) to a communications network (2). The end station includes a number data handling devices (4, 5) which transfer sets of data to the communications network via the interface device. This transfer occurs via two interface connections (A, B), each of which may be coupled to any of the data handling devices (4, 5). Transfer is controlled by a scheduler (11) to ensure that the transfer of each set of data satisfies respective transfer criteria.
