[origin: DE19819883A1] The invention relates to a device for conveying workpieces in a straight line, comprising a driveable, continuous troughed conveyor belt (13) with a number of bars (12) which are parallel in the direction of travel. Said bars are connected to an end drive belt (11). Said drive belt moves around in a higher plane in line with the troughed conveyor belt. In the process, it impresses on the bars (12) a turning and shifting movement in relation to the drive belt (11). In order to improve the interaction with the impingement medium, the bars (12) are rigidly connected to the drive belt (11) at a link point (18) and the turning or shifting movement is contained in an integral but deformable intermediate section (19).
