[origin: WO9901295A1] The invention relates to an object manipulator for grasping and moving sheet-type objects, especially for enveloping (11) inserts (10), designed in such a way that a steering hand (4) forming part of a straight tracking mechanism comprised of three guides presents at its free end hinged spring-operated fingers (2, 3) which, during the working stroke, slide on a base plate (1) and, during the return stroke, are all lifted from the base plate by a sliding tracking mechanism. Such a device works perfectly at a high rate, but requires that the whole installation be of a little height.
