Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0993957A2] A device for automatically adjusting the height of a printer arranged above a conveyor comprises a spring-supported print head mounting which is movable at least at right angles to the conveyance direction of the surface to be printed. The printer is provided with a print head holder with an attached scanner device. Preferred Features: The weight of the print head mounting is at least partly balanced by an adjustable tension spring arranged above the mounting. The printing device is preferably an ink jet, laser or digital printer which is linked to a control device. The control device is also linked to both the conveyor and a print-impression memory device.
