[origin: EP0994045A1] To break up agglomerated loose material, in a cone section (15) of a hopper (10) or bunker and the like, a swing member (25) is over the discharge opening (18'). A number of wire cables (14), on elastic suspension mountings, are aligned along the line of the conical hopper wall (16) down to the swing member (25), through the hopper contents. When the swing member (25) turns round the vertical axis (Y), the wires apply a rubbing, scraping or digging action to break down the material for discharge. The swing member (25) is operated by a drive assembly (70) to swing to and fro round the vertical axis (Y).
