Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19820352A1] To detach a prosthetic part (3) which is firmly joined to a tooth stump (1) it is necessary to destroy the fixed connection between the prosthetic part (3) and the tooth stump (1) simply and without causing pain. This is achieved by carrying out the following steps: a holding member (13) is placed onto the prosthetic part (3) in such a way that a non-rotating connection is created between the holding member (13) and the prosthetic part (3); a drive motor (23, 30) connected to the holding member (13) in a driving manner is switched on; oscillations about the vertical axis (6) of the prosthetic part (3) are produced by means of the drive motor (23, 30) and one or several linking members (19, 20, 22, 27, 28, 29) positioned between the drive motor (23, 30) and the holding member (13); the oscillations are transmitted to the prosthetic part (3) by means of the holding member (13) in such a way that a cement or adhesive layer (4) between the prosthetic part (3) and the tooth stump (1) is detached by the torsional moment produced by the oscillations about the vertical axis (6) of the prosthetic part (3); and the prosthetic part (3) is removed from the tooth stump (1) after the cement or adhesive layer (4) has been destroyed.
