Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19724039A1] The invention relates to DNA sequences which code for proteins with laccase activity, comprising one of the DNA sequences (SEQ ID NO:1, SEQ ID NO:2). The invention also relates to the expression of these DNA sequences, thermopile laccases coded by said DNA sequences and their use for delignifying cellulose, depolymerizing high-molecular aggregates, de-inking waste paper, polymerising aromatic compounds in waste liquids, especially waste liquids from cellulose bleaching, oxidising colorants and activating colorants to produce pigments, and their use in organic synthesis in coupling reactions of aromatic compounds or the oxidation of aromatic side chains.
