Abstract (en)
[origin: FR2778530A1] The heater consists of a frame (1) which is moved over the ground (2), and burners (4) to heat the space between the frame and the ground. It incorporates a layer (9) of a thermal insulation material, such as fibreglass, rock wool or solid refractory material beneath the frame, and a gap (10) between the two for natural or forced circulation of cooling air. Cooling air escaping from the gap is directed downwards by deflectors (7) to form a peripheral air curtain which confines a bubble of water vapour beneath the frame.
