[origin: WO9901091A1] The invention concerns a restraint for retaining in their bed. patients needing protection from: 1) falling off, while keeping their mobility, 2) problems related to their personal hygiene. Said restraint made of a supple and washable fabric, consists of a bed sheet (1), a belt (2) to be fixed on the patient, and strap (4) to be fixed to the bed. The belt is attached on the patient at the waist, maintaining him in his bed, and the bed sheet is normally tucked in. On said belt is superposed a strap which is fixed to the bed lateral vertical members by a system which can be quickly fastened/unfastened to facilitate emergency interventions. Said restraint prevents the patient from slipping his hands under the sheet to tamper with the medical or hygienic devices placed there. The device reduces the interventions of the nursing personnel and preserves the patient's dignity maintaining him clean and covered.
