[origin: WO9959674A1] The invention relates to a magnetic stimulation device for triggering action potentials, especially also in low-lying neuromuscular tissue of a patient. The inventive device comprises at least one stimulation coil (LS) which is connected with the terminals thereof to the output of a current generating unit (9). The invention is characterized in that the current generating unit provides current impulses (4), said impulses being generated in a non-resonant manner, for the stimulation coil thus offering a greater freedom in selecting the current impulse forms.
