[origin: DE19730546A1] The invention relates to a method for producing 6,10 and 6,9-dimethyl-5,10-undecadienyl-2-ones by telomerising isoprene with alkyl acetoacetates in the presence of a transition-metal compound and a phosphor constituent as a catalyst system, optionally in the presence of a protic additive. The resulting beta -keto esters are then saponified and decarboxylated to produce the inventive compounds.
