Abstract (en)
A method for cutting stone-like elements into layers, comprising the steps of arranging stone-like elements (2) in mutual contact in a substantially impermeable container (1); filling the container (1) with a liquid, e.g. water, until at least part of the height of the stone-like elements (2) is covered; freezing the container (1), the stone-like elements (2) and the liquid thus prepared, obtaining a monolith; and cutting the frozen monolith into layers. The container may be of a throwaway type and tray-shaped. Said container may be provided with an outlet (1a) for the overflow of said liquid in order to unify the dimensions of the frozen monoliths. <IMAGE>
