Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0997538A2] The guide (14) tip (15) just ahead of the constriction (2) converges towards it and extends transversely over the full conveyor width. One surface of the tip is close to the skin during operation, without exerting pressure on it. Notches in its surface reduce the area of contact with the skin. Preferred features: Guide notches extend along the direction of motion of the skin or diverge along it, being symmetrical about the center of the guide. Crests reducing contact are rounded or plane. The guide is mounted on sliding supports. When the leading edge of the skin rises, it is driven by the textured cylinder, turning it back against the guide (14) which can move. A microswitch detects guide movement, stopping the machine.
