[origin: WO9905289A1] The present invention relates to lysostaphin analogs having a molecular structure preventing post-translational modifications while retaining lysostaphin-like biological activity. Such recombinant lysostaphin analogs have at least one modified site, or a rearrangement of at least one site at the level of the amino acid sequence of the mature lysostaphin protein. The invention also relates to DNA sequences encoding the lysostaphin analogs, and recombinant plasmids and host cells for the expression of recombinant lysostaphin analog.
