Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19731205A1] A base station sends a first message which initiates a configuration of a radio interface. A mobile station receives the first message whereupon said mobile station sends a second message. The base station designates a receiving time for the second message and, based on this, determines a correction value which is utilized for synchronizing the transmission of information over the radio interface. The synchronization of the transmission of the ATM cells with considerable use of radio technical resources of the radio interface also enables a distance area to be acquired in a manner which is comparable with currently existing public mobile radio communication networks for a WATM transmission.
