Mold for continuous casting has narrow side walls with parallel straight lines and wide side walls in the adjusting region of the narrow side wall parts with straight lines, whose gradient in the thickness region continuously changes in the width region. The narrow side part to the outer side of the mold tapers in height as much as the wide side walls in the contrary position.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine aus Breit- und Schmalseitenwand-Teilen als einzelnen Bauteilen bestehende und durch seitlichen Druck auf die Breitseiten-Teile zusammengehaltene und geschlossene Kokille für das Stranggießen, insbesondere von Dünnbrammen, mit seitlich verschieblichen Schmalseiten-Teilen. Die Schmalseitenwände sind durch vorzugsweise parallele Geraden begrenzt. Die Breitseitenwände werden im Verstellbereich der Schmalseiten-Teile in Gießrichtung überall aus Geraden gebildet, deren Neigung in Dickenrichtung sich in Breitenrichtung stetig ändert, wobei sich das Schmalseiten-Teil zur Außenseite der Kokille hin in jeder Höhe mindestens ebenso stark verjüngt wie die Breitseitenwände in der ungünstigen Stellung.
